"My hidden agenda is to make you go outside and find yourself, you may also experience some cool places as well."

Our Mission

In a world that is growing in concrete, stress and expenses there has to be one way to not lose ourselves in the process. One of the missions of this site and largely my career as a therapist has hinged on understanding two principles.

"Live life Deliberately" and, "You do not get credit for attendance in this life."

For some of us, life has been passive, we moved from high school to college, college to a job and then followed the check list of life, spouse, house, etc. We wake up years later and realize that the dreams and passions we had for ourselves earlier in life were forgotten through the consistency of passivity. As a therapist I can tell you this is the first piece of the code to unlocking where you are going and who you want to experience this life as.

The second piece of the equation is understanding that participation and presence alone is not a substitute for a life well lived.  There is something primal inside of all of us that needs to be explored, fed, nurtured and freed. This action is a constant pursuit of something. More importantly this is a deliberate decision to pursue ourselves in this process. A constant chase of our better self.  Many times we manifest that this pursuit is success at work, an addition to the house or a host of other distractions. Rarely however have I found that the answer to this primal pursuit is something you can buy. This deliberate pursuit of ourselves is almost always something we have to experience directly.

So in a nutshell, GET OUTSIDE! GO EXPLORE! Find adventure where you want to explore yourself and meet a new world at the same time. Like all good journeys in life, whether it is overlanding, camping, fishing or going to the beach with your family. You will never have "it all planned out", enjoy the chaos, welcome the unexpected and surprise yourself in your own resilience.

Our core tenets are this. THERAPIST. MECHANIC. ADVENTURIST.  This site will be a resource for you in all 3. I hope to encourage and help you through building, maintaining and servicing your off road rig. I hope to encourage and challenge you to pursue that Adventurist Spirit inside of you through campfires and star filled skies. But finally, I hope you also find therapy in this process. Whether it is the accomplishment of installing your first winch, or doing your first oil change or your first weekend spent off road.

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”
— Henry David Thoreau
